Actifio to Discuss Dynamics of Data Management Virtualization

Tech Field Day 4 San Jose, an invitation-only event organized by Gestalt IT

Actifio, the leader in Data Management Virtualization (DMV), today announced it is a presenting sponsor of Tech Field Day 4 San Jose, an invitation-only event organized by Gestalt IT being held at the DoubleTree Hotel in San Jose, Calif., on Nov. 11-12, 2010.  The topic of the company's presentation, "Dynamic Data Management Virtualization" will take place on Friday Nov. 12th from 7:30 a.m. - 9:45 a.m. PST.

Ash Ashutosh, president and CEO of Actifio will discuss how Data Management Virtualization transforms the infrastructure from individual silos of point tools into a cost-effective virtualized solution managing data across the entire lifecycle. Until now, organizations have had to use multiple solutions to address all these different parts of the process, leading to a complex, expensive infrastructure that is difficult to deploy, difficult to manage, and inflexible. The result is radical simplification of data protection, disaster recovery and business continuity operations, reduced storage footprint and network utilization that delivers up to 90 percent reduction in TCO.

"Being a Tech Field Day sponsor gives Actifio a great forum to engage with a group of influential bloggers, delegates and industry influencers to share best practices and game changing technologies that are transforming the traditional data center into a dynamic virtual IT infrastructure," said Ash Ashutosh, president and  CEO, Actifio.

Actifio's groundbreaking software suite includes ActifioTM DP for data protection, ActifioTM DR for disaster recovery and ActifioTM BC for business continuity, all built on Actifio's VirtualData Pipeline  (VDP) technology. The software suite simplifies disaster recovery and data protection by combining storage virtualization, data de-duplication, compression, encryption and network optimization to automate the copy, store, move and restore operations, while helping IT deliver a service catalog with defined SLAs.

On Tech Field Days, Gestalt IT brings together innovative IT product vendors and a select group of independent thought leaders, allowing them to get to know one another. Attendance is by invitation only; delegates are bloggers and others selected based on the independence of their critical thinking and discussion, their knowledge of technology, their contribution to the advancement and sharing of knowledge in the technology community and their ability to add to the Field Day discussion.

To Really Work for Enterprises, MultiCloud Adoption Requires Far Better and Inclusive Cloud Monitoring and Cost Management … But How? Overwhelmingly, even as enterprises have adopted cloud computing and are expanding to multi-cloud computing, IT leaders remain concerned about how to monitor, manage and control costs across hybrid and multi-cloud deployments. It’s clear that traditional IT monitoring and management approaches, designed after all for on-premises data centers, are falling short in ...
We are seeing a major migration of enterprises applications to the cloud. As cloud and business use of real time applications accelerate, legacy networks are no longer able to architecturally support cloud adoption and deliver the performance and security required by highly distributed enterprises. These outdated solutions have become more costly and complicated to implement, install, manage, and maintain.SD-WAN offers unlimited capabilities for accessing the benefits of the cloud and Internet. ...
The deluge of IoT sensor data collected from connected devices and the powerful AI required to make that data actionable are giving rise to a hybrid ecosystem in which cloud, on-prem and edge processes become interweaved. Attendees will learn how emerging composable infrastructure solutions deliver the adaptive architecture needed to manage this new data reality. Machine learning algorithms can better anticipate data storms and automate resources to support surges, including fully scalable GPU-c...

Machine learning has taken residence at our cities' cores and now we can finally have "smart cities." Cities are a collection of buildings made to provide the structure and safety necessary for people to function, create and survive. Buildings are a pool of ever-changing performance data from large automated systems such as heating and cooling to the people that live and work within them. Through machine learning, buildings can optimize performance, reduce costs, and improve occupant comfort by ...

Poor data quality and analytics drive down business value. In fact, Gartner estimated that the average financial impact of poor data quality on organizations is $9.7 million per year. But bad data is much more than a cost center. By eroding trust in information, analytics and the business decisions based on these, it is a serious impediment to digital transformation.
