DSP, the world's #1 voice and video over IP engines provider serving
more than 1 billion users in 100+ countries, announced today five years
of non-stop partnership with Huawei, the world's largest
telecommunications equipment provider. Huawei's products and services
are deployed in over 100 countries and serve 45 of the world's top 50
telecom operators, as well as one third of the world's population.
Since November 2007, several contracts were signed between the two
companies, including SPIRIT’s voice engine and video engine licensed by
Huawei for PCs and mobile platforms, including Windows, MacOS, iOS and
Android. As a result, today SPIRIT’s voice and video engines are part of
Huawei’s software and hardware products, which are used worldwide by
dozens of national telcos, serving totally more than 100 million users.
In 2007, Huawei licensed SPIRIT's TeamSpirit® Voice Engine PC
to offer the highest quality PC VoIP solution to its operator and
service provider customers. At the Huawei IMS Summit, which took place
in Beijing during the PT/EXPO 2007, Huawei listed SPIRIT among its key
partners, along with IBM, HP, Broadsoft and about 10 other major players
of the global telecom industry.
Later Huawei has extended its license with SPIRIT for HD voice and video
multiple times. Huawei uses SPIRIT's TeamSpirit Voice&Video Engine PC in
Huawei's IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem), Unified Communications (UC) and
Fixed Mobile Convergence (FMC) solutions to carriers. Huawei also
extended its license with SPIRIT for wideband Mobile VoIP (voice over
IP) and video calling.
Today, both SPIRIT and Huawei continue to cooperate tightly on a
day-to-day basis in voice and video over IP-based networks. Huawei
continues to expand its customer base, including products designed for
telcos' using TeamSpirit engines for mobile and PC. "LTE-networks bring
communications to new level, and require software that can cope with new
challenges and complexity of offering cross-platform IP communications,"
said SPIRIT's Chairman Andrew Sviridenko. "We continue to develop
innovative software products for voice and video over IP-networks
expected by our valued telco customers, and this ongoing relationship
with Huawei underscores the importance that telcos around the world are
placing on delivering HD voice and video in their VVoIP services."
About TeamSpirit Voice and Video Engine
Voice&Video Engines support both RCS-e and VoLTE. The engines
include resource-efficient HD voice and video codecs, echo and noise
cancelling (AEC), automatic voice and video rate selection (ARS),
packets delays mitigation, speech enhancement, network adaptation, voice
and video synchronization, a dozen of standard digital telephony
functions and more. In addition to a dozen of ITU-T standard G.7xx and
H.26x codecs included in the engine. SPIRIT also offers its own industry
leading IP-MR™ (IETF 6262) adaptive and error-resilient HD voice codec
that has been selected by Tier1 telecom operators to deliver HD voice to
millions of their VAS services users. TeamSpirit uses H.264SVC and VP8
video codecs. TeamSpirit Voice&Video Conferencing Engine is an
additional server-side module bringing all the power of TeamSpirit's
robust high-quality calling to centralized communication scenarios.
TeamSpirit Conferencing powers SPIRIT's VideoMost
software for massively multipoint videoconferencing. SPIRIT video
engines are available on Windows, Mac, iOS, Android and allow users of
smartphones, tablets and notebooks across different OSs to make video
calls from iPhone to Android smartphones to PC, as well as participate
in HD video conferencing with automatic quality adaptation to specific
network conditions, screen size and processing power.
SPIRIT DSP is the world's #1 voice and video over IP engines provider,
serving more VoIP users than Skype. SPIRIT's innovative carrier-grade
voice and video software platform allows carriers, OEMs and software
developers to deliver superior quality and integrated VVoIP services for
telcos, cable and mobile service providers, enterprises, internet
portals and social networks. SPIRIT software platforms serve more than 1
billion users in over 100 countries, powering popular products from
Apple, Adobe, ARM, AT&T, Avaya, Blizzard, BT, China Mobile, Dialogic,
Ericsson, HP, HTC, Huawei, KT, Kyocera, LG U+, Microsoft, NEC, Oracle,
Polycom, Samsung, Skype, Texas Instruments, Toshiba, Viber, ZTE, among
250+ others. SPIRIT's direct OEM customers jointly exceed 60 percent of
the global smartphone market share. VideoMost
is the SPIRIT multi-point web video-conferencing software, for
Enterprise and SMB customers and Service Provider partners, competing
against US-based Vidyo. For more information, visit www.spiritdsp.com.

Cloud computing is now being embraced by a majority of enterprises of all sizes. Yesterday's debate about public vs. private has transformed into the reality of hybrid cloud: a recent survey shows that 74% of enterprises have a hybrid cloud strategy. Meanwhile, 94% of enterprises are using some form of XaaS – software, platform, and infrastructure as a service.

The recent trends like cloud computing, social, mobile and Internet of Things are forcing enterprises to modernize in order to compete in the competitive globalized markets.
However, enterprises are approaching newer technologies with a more silo-ed way, gaining only sub optimal benefits.
The Modern Enterprise model is presented as a newer way to think of enterprise IT, which takes a more holistic approach to embracing modern technologies.

The true value of the Internet of Things (IoT) lies not just in the data, but through the services that protect the data, perform the analysis and present findings in a usable way. With many IoT elements rooted in traditional IT components, Big Data and IoT isn’t just a play for enterprise. In fact, the IoT presents SMBs with the prospect of launching entirely new activities and exploring innovative areas. CompTIA research identifies several areas where IoT is expected to have the greatest impact.

There's no doubt that the Internet of Things is driving the next wave of innovation. Google has spent billions over the past few months vacuuming up companies that specialize in smart appliances and machine learning. Already, Philips light bulbs, Audi automobiles, and Samsung washers and dryers can communicate with and be controlled from mobile devices. To take advantage of the opportunities the Internet of Things brings to your business, you'll want to start preparing now.

The security devil is always in the details of the attack: the ones you've endured, the ones you prepare yourself to fend off, and the ones that, you fear, will catch you completely unaware and defenseless. The Internet of Things (IoT) is nothing if not an endless proliferation of details. It's the vision of a world in which continuous Internet connectivity and addressability is embedded into a growing range of human artifacts, into the natural world, and even into our smartphones, appliances, and physical persons.
In the IoT vision, every new "thing" - sensor, actuator, data source, data con...
