SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 12/04/12 -- ForgeRock, the pioneer of open source Identity and Access Management (IAM), announced that it has named Mike Ellis as the company's new chief executive officer. A veteran software industry executive who has held senior leadership roles at SAP and i2 Technologies, Ellis' selection sets the stage for the company's next phase of growth.
Co-Founder Lasse Andresen and the Board of Directors led the search that brought Ellis to ForgeRock. "Mike is the perfect fit for growing ForgeRock business as adoption skyrockets," said Andresen, who shifts roles to CTO. "With this critical part of our leadership plan in place, I can now focus on growing our open source community, driving innovation through ForgeRock labs, and working with Mike to expand our growing team of Rock Stars."
Having sold to more than 140 customers in less than 24 months, ForgeRock has been growing across the globe at a rapid pace. ForgeRock's Open Identity Stack provides enterprises with a next generation identity and access management platform for easily protecting enterprise, cloud, social and mobile applications at Internet Scale, something traditional IAM stack vendors have struggled to do.
"ForgeRock is redefining Identity & Access Management with unparalleled innovation and an open source model that is revolutionizing security," said Ellis. "I am extremely excited to be a part of ForgeRock, building out our Open Identity Stack to secure enterprise, cloud, social, and mobile applications."
During Ellis's tenure as Senior Vice President at i2 Technologies, the company defined and led the enterprise supply chain management software category, growing revenue from $17 million to over $1 billion. Prior to i2 Technologies and SAP, Ellis held senior roles at Oracle and Apple Computer.
"Accel has been extremely impressed with ForgeRock's growth and development over the past two years," said Bruce Golden, ForgeRock Board Member and Partner at Accel Partners. "The company is building a strong global presence with a large community of partners and Mike's experience is a perfect fit for scaling a rapidly growing business."
