Janney Capital Markets today announced that Yun Kim has joined the firm’s Technology Research team covering software. The addition of Mr. Kim reaffirms Janney’s commitment to providing customers high quality research in Janney’s core verticals.
“We’re excited for Yun to join our team,” said Jordie Maine, Head of Janney Capital Markets. “The depth and breadth of his experience and solid track record within this vertical complements the research product and specifically the technology group we continue to build at Janney.”
The firm announced that the veteran software analyst, previously with ThinkEquity LLC, has recently initiated coverage with BMC Software Inc. (BMC); Concur Technologies (CNQR); Microsoft (MSFT); MicroStrategy Inc. (MSTR); Oracle Corporation (ORCL); Parametric Technology Corp. (PMTC); SAP AG (SAP); and TIBCO Software Inc. (TIBX).
At ThinkEquity, Mr. Kim served as its senior software analyst. Prior to joining ThinkEquity, he was an analyst at Gleacher and Co., Pacific Growth Equities and AG Edwards. He graduated with honors from the University of California Berkeley and earned his M.S. from Northwestern University. He will work from Janney’s Midtown, New York office.
“We continually seek to deliver more value for our clients across our entire research platform,” Maine continued. “With the addition of Yun we believe we are developing critical mass in our Technology and Media vertical.”
Earlier this month, the firm also announced it had further broadened its equity research and investment banking capabilities with the addition of a health care vertical through the hiring of three senior analysts and two senior bankers, also from ThinkEquity.
