Peter K. Hazen, Marketing Director, Non-Volatile Memory (NVM) Solutions Group at Intel will talk about Enabling Transformational Change in Clients and Datacenters with Solid State Drives.  Following is the abstract of his talk:  The explosion of mobile computing has created an insatiable demand for instant, affordable access to the world's information. Solid State Drive solutions are fueling the innovation and proliferation of mobile computing by enabling thinner, lighter and more responsive clients with extended battery life. Service providers and enterprises are responding to the increased demand for data by expanding and transforming their datacenters worldwide. The adoption of SSD solutions in datacenters is enabling transformational change through significant improvements in performance, power and cost. SSD solutions enable breakthrough advances in Big Data, Cloud Computing and High Performance Computing as well as a broad range of Enterprise IT applications. A new generation of SSDs are coming to market with new form factors, lower power, enterprise Reliability, Availability and Serviceability (RAS) features, higher and more consistent performance as well as improved Quality-of-Service (QoS) which are accelerating innovation in client and datacenter solutions.

Peter Hazen is the Marketing Director responsible for bringing Intel NAND components and solutions to the market including Intel client and datacenter Solid-State Drives (SSDs). He is responsible for Product and Technical Marketing, Applications Engineering, Customer Marketing and Marketing Communications within Intel's NVM Solutions Group. The team is focused on launching and ramping a series of new and exciting SSDs for multiple segments in the growing SSD market. With 26 years of experience, Peter has held roles in product design, architecture, technical marketing, sales development, strategic planning and marketing across Intel.

Kevin Conley, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Client Storage Solutions, SanDisk Corporation will talk about SSDs: Enabling the Next Wave of Growth in the PC Industry.  His talk abstract follows:  Solid-state drives (SSDs) are re-energizing the PC industry. By 2015, the average capacity of an SSD-based PC is predicted to almost double, reaching 269 GB according to Gartner.  The explosive growth in SSDs is being driven by the emergence of ultra-thin laptops and the promise of new, higher-performing desktops for consumers and businesses. This presentation will outline perspectives on these trends and will discuss a strategy for leveraging SSDs to enable the next wave of growth in the PC industry.

"My role is working with customers, helping them go through this digital transformation. I spend a lot of time talking to banks, big industries, manufacturers working through how they are integrating and transforming their IT platforms and moving them forward," explained William Morrish, General Manager Product Sales at Interoute, in this SYS-CON.tv interview at 18th Cloud Expo, held June 7-9, 2016, at the Javits Center in New York City, NY.
According to Forrester Research, every business will become either a digital predator or digital prey by 2020. To avoid demise, organizations must rapidly create new sources of value in their end-to-end customer experiences. True digital predators also must break down information and process silos and extend digital transformation initiatives to empower employees with the digital resources needed to win, serve, and retain customers.
If you’re responsible for an application that depends on the data or functionality of various IoT endpoints – either sensors or devices – your brand reputation depends on the security, reliability, and compliance of its many integrated parts. If your application fails to deliver the expected business results, your customers and partners won't care if that failure stems from the code you developed or from a component that you integrated. What can you do to ensure that the endpoints work as expect...
In this strange new world where more and more power is drawn from business technology, companies are effectively straddling two paths on the road to innovation and transformation into digital enterprises. The first path is the heritage trail – with “legacy” technology forming the background. Here, extant technologies are transformed by core IT teams to provide more API-driven approaches. Legacy systems can restrict companies that are transitioning into digital enterprises. To truly become a lea...

What happens when the different parts of a vehicle become smarter than the vehicle itself? As we move toward the era of smart everything, hundreds of entities in a vehicle that communicate with each other, the vehicle and external systems create a need for identity orchestration so that all entities work as a conglomerate. Much like an orchestra without a conductor, without the ability to secure, control, and connect the link between a vehicle’s head unit, devices, and systems and to manage the ...
Businesses are struggling to manage the information flow and interactions between all of these new devices and things jumping on their network, and the apps and IT systems they control. In his session at @ThingsExpo, Chris Witeck, Principal Technology Strategist at Citrix, will discuss how different the impact of IoT will be for large businesses, expanding how IoT will allow large organizations to make their legacy ap...
The many IoT deployments around the world are busy integrating smart devices and sensors into their enterprise IT infrastructures. What are the new priorities for the connected business? First: businesses need to think differently about the types of connections they will need to make – these span well beyond the traditional app to app into more modern forms of integration including SaaS integrations, mobile integrations, APIs, device integration and Big Data integration. It’s important these are unified together vs. doing them all piecemeal. Second, these types of connections need to be simple to design, adapt and configure...
A strange thing is happening along the way to the Internet of Things, namely far too many devices to work with and manage. It has become clear that we'll need much higher efficiency user experiences that can allow us to more easily and scalably work with the thousands of devices that will soon be in each of our lives. Enter the conversational interface revolution, combining bots we can literally talk with, gesture to, and even direct with our thoughts, with embedded artificial intelligence, wh...
Data is an unusual currency; it is not restricted by the same transactional limitations as money or people.
