SILVER SPRING, Md., Dec. 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- American Career Institute's newest location in Silver Spring, Maryland announced they will now be offering a Dental Assistant Training program. To keep in line with American Career Institute's career-focused philosophy to education, the program will emphasize a hands-on approach to training with a curriculum that covers both administrative and clinical disciplines. Students will be able to take advantage of Silver Spring's beautiful, brand-new dental facilities complete with two dental chairs and x-ray machine lab. Dental assistants are valuable team members in dental offices across the country and this program will provide students with the comprehensive skills necessary to effectively assist dentists and other members of a dental team.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (bls.gov), employment of dental assistants is projected to increase 31 percent between 2010 and 2020, which is much faster than the total of all occupations at 14 percent. This above average growth rate was a major factor in the decision to bring the Dental Assistant Training program to American Career Institute's Silver Spring location.
"It is our goal to offer career training programs for our students that will continue to be in-demand in the years to come. With the huge employment growth expected in the field of dental assisting, it seemed like a perfect fit to bring the Dental Assistant Training program to our newest updated facilities here in Silver Spring," said American Career Institute's CEO Andree Fontaine.
The dental program will be in addition to Silver Spring's other technology and healthcare oriented programs which currently include Digital Gaming Design, Digital Multimedia Design, PC & Network Design, Oracle Administration & Enterprise Solutions Developer, Medical Assisting and Medical Coding & Billing.
For more information about the Dental Assistant Training program offered at the new Silver Spring location, call 866-975-4427 or visit the American Career Institute website at www.aci.edu/programs/dental-assisting.
