MUNICH, Germany and PALO ALTO, California, September 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Kapow Technologies today announced that Simfy.de, a Germany-based online price-comparison web site for music downloads, is using the Kapow Web Integration Platform to collect data from online-music shops around the world so that users can locate music for the best price, and download it without any additional software.
Last May, Simfy.de introduced its new Internet service that enables consumers to locate more than 75,000 artists, 95,000 albums and 1,200,000 titles on the Internet. Even though a number of online-music shops and subsequent the number of legal downloads are increasing, no search and price comparison service has ever existed up until this point. The goal of Simfy.de is to create clarity and transparency in the legal music downloads business.
"Because of its innovative technology and business model, Simfy.de saves its customers significant amounts of time and money when shopping for their favourite music," said Darius Heisig, General Manager for Kapow Technologies in Germany. "Although it is not uncommon to see price differences from 30 to 50 percent, now, with one click, users can find the best price for a track or full album available on the Internet."
Simfy.de's underlying integration technology is the Kapow Technologies Web Integration Platform version 6.0, which completely automates the company's search, collection and publishing process. When compared to other software integration technologies, the Kapow platform enabled Simfy.de to bring its service to market much faster and operationally cheaper.
"The strategic partnership with Kapow Technologies is central for the development of Simfy.de, said Steffen Wicker, co-founder of Simfy.de. "Through the usage of the Kapow Web Integration Platform lengthy and cost-intensive programming work was avoided. Updating the data happens mostly automatically, so that we still have time for studies."
Simfy.de collects approximately eight megbytes of data from different Internet music shops are extracted and updated regularly. Currently, Simfy.de provides information from AOL, Mediaonline, medionmusic, Musicload, OggStar, Finetunes, freenet, Saturn, plattenladen.tv, o2 Music, four music, Kiddo Records, fine.Records, yomama, and Bleep. The integration of iTunes, Napster, and other leading sites will be completed later this year.
