ExCeL move positions IP EXPO as the major European IT event on the international circuit

- Imago Techmedia expands its profile to deliver the complete technology range to an international audience -

London, 29 July 2013: With backing from London & Partners, IP EXPO Europe is set to grow from the UK's number one end-to-end enterprise IT event to the leading European IT event when it relocates to ExCeL London in 2014. The move will help organisers deliver an even better event, offering visitors more relevant content and more expert commentary on all the latest technology trends in the new venue.

The main focus at IP EXPO Europe 2014 will be the new interconnected halls covering the headline topics of Security & Governance, Applications & Devices and Networks & Cloud, and each will host aligned sub-themes. IP EXPO has already grown in size this year with the introduction of its five new themes and expanded exhibitor line-up.

Hugh Keeble, managing director of IP EXPO Europe organiser, Imago Techmedia, said: "The ongoing success of the brand means the move to ExCeL London is the next logical step for us. The event has evolved over the last few years, as IP EXPO Europe 2013 has demonstrated with the addition of five new themes that address a broader range of technologies.

"IP EXPO Europe 2014 is focused on growing the numbers of European and UK delegates by delivering relevant, contentious and interesting topics through a new international keynote conference and associated seminars. Its location lends itself to overseas visitors since the venue is perfectly situated near hotels, shops, restaurants, the Underground, and London City Airport," concluded Keeble.

The relocation of IP EXPO Europe to ExCel London has been achieved through the assistance and co-operation of London & Partners, the Mayor's official promotional organisation for London.

Gordon Innes, CEO of London & Partners, said: "We are really pleased IP EXPO Europe is moving to ExCeL in London. As one of the major enterprise IT trade shows in Europe, this event will further strengthen London's position as one of the leading 'Tech Cities' of the world. London already provides a home for innovation and creative thinking within the global technology industry and we believe Imago's plans to bring the whole of the IT industry together in London in October will help to cement this position."

With the increase in floor space and the addition of the two new halls, Imago Techmedia aims to double the amount of international exhibitors, increase the number of exhibitors overall, and attract more visitors. The event's partners will also benefit from this increase in venue size and scope and the organiser has forged links with many of the biggest names in the international IT space, including Apple, Aruba, Blackberry, Citrix, Dell, Google, HP, IBM, Microsoft, Nokia, Oracle, SAP, Siemens, Symantec, Trend Micro, and more.

"We are looking forward to working with IP EXPO Europe and being part of a bigger show this year. The news of the move to ExCeL is very exciting and we look forward to being an integral part of the bigger Information Security hall at IP EXPO 2014," says Chris Hepple, Trend Micro Event Marketing Manager, EMEA.

Chris Kozup, Director EMEA Marketing, Aruba Networks, added: "We are proud partners of IP EXPO Europe and are excited by the news of the wider content breadth of the show and the move to ExCeL, London in 2014."

Graham Franklin Marketing Manager, Cisco, also commented on the move: "Cisco are sponsors of IP EXPO Europe, we are looking forward to the show moving to ExCeL in 2014 and are also impressed with the new content themes introduced this year."

IP EXPO Europe 2013 takes place on 16 and 17 October at Earls Court 2 and will host over 250 exhibitors and 14,000 attendees over the two days. It will address core themes, including Networks, Storage, Virtualization, Cloud, and Security, Applications, Communications, Mobility & Devices, Governance & Risk and Data & Analytics.

The event will host seminars on the most debated topics in the industry currently, such as Data Insight & Analytics, Big Data, Cloud Infrastructure, Cloud Services & Apps, Communication & Collaboration, Data Centre, Desktop Virtualization, Network Optimisation, Network Security, Virtualization & Cloud, and Wireless & Mobile.

Imagine if you will, a retail floor so densely packed with sensors that they can pick up the movements of insects scurrying across a store aisle. Or a component of a piece of factory equipment so well-instrumented that its digital twin provides resolution down to the micrometer.
When shopping for a new data processing platform for IoT solutions, many development teams want to be able to test-drive options before making a choice. Yet when evaluating an IoT solution, it’s simply not feasible to do so at scale with physical devices. Building a sensor simulator is the next best choice; however, generating a realistic simulation at very high TPS with ease of configurability is a formidable challenge. When dealing with multiple application or transport protocols, you would be...

Smart cities have the potential to change our lives at so many levels for citizens: less pollution, reduced parking obstacles, better health, education and more energy savings. Real-time data streaming and the Internet of Things (IoT) possess the power to turn this vision into a reality. However, most organizations today are building their data infrastructure to focus solely on addressing immediate business needs vs. a platform capable of quickly adapting emerging technologies to address future ...
We are given a desktop platform with Java 8 or Java 9 installed and seek to find a way to deploy high-performance Java applications that use Java 3D and/or Jogl without having to run an installer. We are subject to the constraint that the applications be signed and deployed so that they can be run in a trusted environment (i.e., outside of the sandbox). Further, we seek to do this in a way that does not depend on bundling a JRE with our applications, as this makes downloads and installations rat...

In this strange new world where more and more power is drawn from business technology, companies are effectively straddling two paths on the road to innovation and transformation into digital enterprises. The first path is the heritage trail – with “legacy” technology forming the background. Here, extant technologies are transformed by core IT teams to provide more API-driven approaches. Legacy systems can restrict companies that are transitioning into digital enterprises. To truly become a lead...
Digital Transformation (DX) is not a "one-size-fits all" strategy. Each organization needs to develop its own unique, long-term DX plan. It must do so by realizing that we now live in a data-driven age, and that technologies such as Cloud Computing, Big Data, the IoT, Cognitive Computing, and Blockchain are only tools. In her general session at 21st Cloud Expo, Rebecca Wanta explained how the strategy must focus on DX and include a commitment from top management to create great IT jobs, monitor ...

The IoT Will Grow: In what might be the most obvious prediction of the decade, the IoT will continue to expand next year, with more and more devices coming online every single day. What isn’t so obvious about this prediction: where that growth will occur. The retail, healthcare, and industrial/supply chain industries will likely see the greatest growth. Forrester Research has predicted the IoT will become “the backbone” of customer value as it continues to grow. It is no surprise that retail is ...
