With the continued evolution of AJAX-enabled technologies, which dramatically simplify how to build AJAX applications, will the term "AJAX" simply wither away as ALL Web technologies eventually come to support AJAX and the novelty of rich client Web development disappears? This is the question that will be asked by Google's Chris Schalk (pictured) in March at AJAXWorld Conference & Expo 2007 East in New York. The leading Web 2.0 and RIA event will take place on March 19-21 2007 in New York's Roosevelt Hotel in midtown Manhattan.
Schalk, a Tech Lead in the Developer API Evangelism group at Google, is also one of the original members of the OpenAjax Alliance. Prior to Google, he was a Principal Product Manager and Java Evangelist for Oracle's application server and development tools division.
While at Oracle, Schalk worked to define the overall Web development experience for Oracle JDeveloper and ADF Faces (Trinidad). He is also the co-author of JavaServer Faces: The Complete Reference published through McGraw-Hill Osborne (ISBN: 0072262400) and maintains a popular Blog on J2EE Web development at www.jroller.com/page/cschalk.
Schalk is a member of the OpenAjax Alliance. The other members of the alliance include:
24SevenOffice, ActiveGrid, ActiveState, Adobe, American Greetings, Aptana, Arimaan Global Consulting, BEA, Curl, Dojo Foundation, Eclipse Foundation, edge IPK, eLink Business Innovations, Finetooth, Global Computer Enterprises, Getahead (DWR), GoETC, Helmi Technologies, HR-XML, IBM, ICEsoft, Ikivo, ILOG, Innoopract, Isomorphic Software, IT MILL, JackBe, Javeline, JSSL, JWAX, Laszlo Systems, Lightstreamer, Mozilla Corporation, NetScript Technologies, Nexaweb, Nitobi, Novell, OpenLink Software, OpenSpot, Openwave Systems, Opera, OpSource, Oracle, OS3.IT, SAP, Scalix, Seagull Software, Sitepen, Software AG, Sun Microsystems, The Frontside, Tealeaf Technology, Tibco, Transmend, Vertex Logic, Visible Measures, Visual WebGui, Volantis Systems, Webtide, XML11, Zend, Zimbra, and Zoho.
