SYS-CON's WLDJ Applies For BPA Membership with 42,000-Copy Circulation

WLDJ, The First and Only Independent Magazine Serving the BEA WebLogic User Community Since 2001 Also Becomes the First Publicat

(Market Wire)

(Montvale, NJ, April 6, 2004) - SYS-CON Media, the world's leading i-technology magazine publisher, announced today that its WLDJ has applied for BPA membership.

BPA International will track circulation for WLDJ based on demographic and geographic coverage. The upcoming May 2004 issue of WLDJ has a print circulation of 42,000 copies (*) and its initial statement is expected to have an average circulation of more than 40,000 copies.

WLDJ was launched in 2001 and in one of its first issues, was introduced to the BEA user community with a letter from BEA Systems founder and CEO, Alfred Chuang. "I'm very pleased to have the opportunity to welcome you to this new publication, and encourage you to subscribe so that you can keep abreast of the latest developments in the BEA WebLogic product line," wrote Chuang in his March 2002 editorial of WLDJ.

"WLDJ is now in its third year of looking at every technical and strategic aspect of the application server software BEA provides to software developers," said Jeremy Geelan, group publisher of SYS-CON Media. "It establishes platforms on which software apps run - from mainframe to Web-based environments. Whether the primary activity of our readers is transaction processing, billing, customer service, provisioning, or securities trading, WLDJ has, since we began publishing it, been built on the premise that once you have the right platform, success is simply a matter of applying yourself. WLDJ is devoted to helping inform readers how best to do that, using the WebLogic family of products."

"With our membership application to BPA International, we are pleased to share WLDJ's detailed circulation demographics and geographic coverage with our readers and advertising partners," said Miles Silverman, vice president of sales and marketing of SYS-CON Media. "For the past 10 years, SYS-CON has proved itself to be the undisputed leader among all i-technology magazine publishers as we successfully increased this gap. We share our passion and commitment with our readers and partners and today's announcement is another example of our commitment to unmatched value for our WLDJ advertising partners."

Recently named as the No. 1 magazine publisher in the world for delivering the highest digital circulation among all titles whose circulation is audited by BPA, SYS-CON continues to serve its i-technology readers with the most respected magazines, journals, and newsletters. The challenges of aggregating data from consumer-oriented devices, such as wearable technologies and smart thermostats, are fairly well-understood. However, there are a new set of challenges for IoT devices that generate megabytes or gigabytes of data per second. Certainly, the infrastructure will have to change, as those volumes of data will likely overwhelm the available bandwidth for aggregating the data into a central repository. Ochandarena discusses a whole new way to think about your next...
Cell networks have the advantage of long-range communications, reaching an estimated 90% of the world. But cell networks such as 2G, 3G and LTE consume lots of power and were designed for connecting people. They are not optimized for low- or battery-powered devices or for IoT applications with infrequently transmitted data. Cell IoT modules that support narrow-band IoT and 4G cell networks will enable cell connectivity, device management, and app enablement for low-power wide-area network IoT. B...

When talking IoT we often focus on the devices, the sensors, the hardware itself. The new smart appliances, the new smart or self-driving cars (which are amalgamations of many ‘things'). When we are looking at the world of IoT, we should take a step back, look at the big picture. What value are these devices providing. IoT is not about the devices, its about the data consumed and generated. The devices are tools, mechanisms, conduits. This paper discusses the considerations when dealing with the...
