LOS ANGELES, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 04/21/08 -- LIGATT Security files lawsuit against
Camelback Consulting dba Camelback Web Architects, for Breach of Contract,
Unjust Enrichment and Attorney fees in the State of Georgia on April 17,
2008. Camelback was the hosting company for LIGATT Security's website,
www.ligattsecurity.net "When we first got a demo of their software around
September of 2007, they gave us the dog and pony show. After we leased the
software, which includes the hosting service, the dog and pony show was
over. Their software did not include a manual or directions. If you
called in for technical support they charged $100 an hour, even though we
were paying $100 a month for the service," says Gregory Evans, Director of
LIGATT Security, LLC. "They claim on their website 'Free Support,' but
they do not mention that it is email support only. Every time we called
their office we could not ever speak with anyone without paying first."
"Camelback charges a monthly fee of $49.95, $99.95 and $199.95, which
includes Livesite software and hosting space on their servers. This is a
month-to-month contract that can be cancelled at any time. All payments
are due on the 1st of the month and are late by the 10th of the month.
After LIGATT Security had placed over 500 pages and spent thousands of man
hours building www.ligattsecurity.net, Camelback then told us that they
wanted us to pay them $1097.00 for 1 year of service in advance. Even
though Camelback sells their software for $499 and an Enterprise Edition
for $999, they were asking us for more than if they sold the software to us
outright," says Evans.
"We have consulted on over 100 cases involving cyber crimes and extortion.
I just couldn't believe that we were being extorted," says Evans. "There
is nothing different in what Camelback did than a hacker calling a company
and saying give me $1097.00 or I will take your website offline," says
Evans.
Although LIGATT Security has filed in state court, we are currently talking
with federal prosecutors about criminal charges.
