FatWire Software, the largest privately-held Web Experience Management (WEM) provider, today announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Wai Wong as an independent outside director of the Company. Wong’s election brings the number of directors on FatWire's Board to seven.
“Wai’s background in managing complex organizations, and his strategic and technological expertise add enormous depth to FatWire's Board of Directors,” said FatWire Chairman Paul Lowell. “His 26 years of industry experience, including executive leadership positions at two major publicly-held enterprise software companies, will help FatWire drive continued strong revenue and earnings growth.”
Wong recently served as executive vice president of products and general manager of WebLogic Communication Platform at BEA Systems, a leading provider of enterprise application infrastructure solutions, which was acquired by Oracle in 2008. At BEA, Wong ran all aspects of product development and strategy, and was part of an executive leadership team that drove top line growth, resulting in doubling the stock price over 3 years. Before joining BEA, Wong held several executive management positions at CA, Inc., including senior vice president and business unit executive for CA’s flagship Unicenter brand, general manager of CA Services, and divisional senior vice president of R&D. Under Wong’s strategic and operational leadership, CA’s Unicenter portfolio flourished as a billion dollar industry leader.
"It is an honor to join FatWire’s Board of Directors. Over the past two years, the company has been re-energized with new management, new vision, and an enhanced product portfolio, all resulting in exceptional growth," said Wong. “In my new role, I will work closely with the executive team to help shape the company's strategic direction to drive continued success in 2009 and beyond."
Wong holds both a Bachelors and a Masters degree in Computer Science from Columbia University’s School of Engineering.
