VistaPrint Launches Live, Interactive Chats for Small Businesses

Discussion With VistaPrint Small Business Expert to Focus on Tips for Successful Postcard Marketing; Live Chat Series Will Continue Through April

HAMILTON, BERMUDA -- (Marketwire) -- 03/05/09 -- VistaPrint Limited (NASDAQ: VPRT), the small business marketing company, today announced that the company will launch a series of live chat sessions that will continue through April. Aimed at small businesses looking to gain knowledge on topics like marketing and design, this chat series will enable direct one-on-one access to VistaPrint's own internal seasoned experts.

VistaPrint's first live chat will focus specifically on how to effectively manage and execute a postcard marketing campaign. Mindy Sanderson, VistaPrint's small business marketing specialist, will host the live chat on Friday, March 13 at 2:30 p.m. EDT. Participation in the live chat is free, and will be hosted on VistaPrint's small business blog, www.vistaprintsmallbiz.com.

"Small businesses are always looking to learn from others, and oftentimes need guidance in areas like marketing, which can be challenging," said Sanderson. "These new chats are going to give them the opportunity to ask questions and get answers in real time. Customers can also see the answers to questions they might not have thought of from other business owners. Just like our small business blog, instructive webinars, and expert articles, we're working to get our customers the knowledge they need in the format that works best for them."

Sanderson is one of the driving forces behind VistaPrint's popular Webinar series that is hosted on www.vistaprint.com. Her family also owns a well established restaurant in Natick, Mass. She has been involved in the businesses marketing initiatives -- including strategic planning, promotions, customer retention, online marketing and graphic design -- for many years and will share her expertise during the chat.

The moderated chat will last for 30 minutes and users are encouraged to login early and to ask as many questions as they would like. Mindy will answer as many questions as the time allows. After the conclusion of the chat, a complete transcript will be posted on the VistaPrint small business blog for those who could not make it and would like a re-cap of the session.

To pre-register for the chat and receive a reminder email prior to the event, please visit www.vistaprintsmallbiz.com and click on the live chat tab, or visit www.vistaprint.com/learningcenter and click on the Webinars tab.

Upcoming chat topics include how to engage in search marketing and what elements of design you should consider with printed materials. More information will be released in the near future.

The challenges of aggregating data from consumer-oriented devices, such as wearable technologies and smart thermostats, are fairly well-understood. However, there are a new set of challenges for IoT devices that generate megabytes or gigabytes of data per second. Certainly, the infrastructure will have to change, as those volumes of data will likely overwhelm the available bandwidth for aggregating the data into a central repository. Cell networks have the advantage of long-range communications, reaching an estimated 90% of the world. But cell networks such as 2G, 3G and LTE consume lots of power and were designed for connecting people. They are not optimized for low- or battery-powered devices or for IoT applications with infrequently transmitted data. Cell IoT modules that support narrow-band IoT and 4G cell networks will enable cell connectivity, device management, and app enablement for low-power wide-area network IoT. B...

When talking IoT we often focus on the devices, the sensors, the hardware itself. The new smart appliances, the new smart or self-driving cars (which are amalgamations of many ‘things'). When we are looking at the world of IoT, we should take a step back, look at the big picture. What value are these devices providing. IoT is not about the devices, its about the data consumed and generated. The devices are tools, mechanisms, conduits. This paper discusses the considerations when dealing with the...
